    Just received my carista evo and down loaded the app set it up in my car and it said there is 20 pluss fault codes but cannot see any of the details unless u down load the pro version so totally useless unless u subscribe not very happy with this product as it is totally useless unless u want to pay alot more money to use it after purchasing it

      Purchased this mainly to pair a new TPM sensor for my Lexus is300h. Got the sensors for a fraction of the price of what a garage or main dealer wanted. But had trouble finding anyone to pair it to my car, so decided to do it my self. Easy to do and has other uses. It will also work on my wife's car. Yes there is a subscription to pay on the app, but when totaling it up when I inevitably have to replace the other 3 sensors at some point it is still a far cheaper way to do it.

      It's a shame Amazon don't show "most recent" reviews first by default - if they did I would have not purchased this, even with the discounted price of £44

      I'd seen this had free lifetime diagnostics and so when the price was discounted I quickly jumped on it. Only to find that they ended that recently and the company is committed to its subscription model. This is a response to a query I sent them confirming this:

      Thank you for reaching out! We removed the free trial on October 30th, and the lifetime diagnostics offer has ended and is no longer available. However, you can still explore all the app's features before purchasing a subscription.

      By connecting your car, you can check if there are any fault codes and see what live data, customizations, and service tools are available for your vehicle.

      Please note, that a subscription is only required if you want to:

      View the full description of fault codes and reset them
      Access advanced live data
      Use service tools
      Change customizations

      As for the removal of the free trial, this decision was made to maintain the quality and sustainability of our service. It allows us to continue improving the app, adding new features, and ensuring the best possible experience for all users.

      Admittedly they responded in the same day so I can't fault them for that but it's pointless to only show you have a fault when you probably already know that! And to clear it or do anything else requires a subscription - it's a no from me as it offers nothing over the cheap units.

      The reader itself is well made and connects easily and quickly with my Audi and BMW as was able to pickup faults I knew existed (and some I didn't know and managed to fix).

      It came into it's own when looking to buy a used Range Rover Sport that test drove well but, once read, showed a number of worrying codes and likely saved me a load of money.

      Pros:
      - Works well, connects fast, shows detailed codes with a brief description of what they relate to.
      - The customisation section is very easy to use although 70% can already be done through the car's settings.

      Cons:
      - It's costly for a scanner that needs a pricey monthly subscription to function.
      - Sometime the codes produced are Carly codes and need cross referencing to the car's actual code.

      All in all, the subscription can be added and cancelled at any time. £15pm to read codes and potentially avoid a costly garage trip is worth it in my book.

A quick youtubeiversity course led to various solutions from tyre pressure to brake fluid levels. These didn't fix my problem so I researched scanners. This one was used by youtube fixers so I risked it. Problem identified as left front abs sensor and after various viewings of different videos I managed to undo the connecting clip. First spray the sensor and connector with wd40 and leave for a few minutes. The trick is to gently "lift" the clip. This is best achieved by using a flat head screwdriver that goes into the oblong gap in the connector diagonally. No need to push the screwdriver. Just gently turn it. The idea is to push the long edges of the diagonal apart. This "lifts" the edge furthest from the wheel which is the lever for the clip. Not too much or it'll break. Might need a wiggle but it will work. Getting the sensor out was a different experience. Tried doing it by hand with wd and wiggling. Tried prying with screwdriver and all the edges of a pair of pincers. Eventually broke the thing and left stem in place. I tried screwing a number 6 screw into the stem and lifting with pincers. Broke the head off screw. Managed to remove broken screw with mole grips. I rang a local garage and booked it in for a repair. I was beaten. Then whilst looking at bootility room design videos, up popped a video. "Broken your abs sensor whilst removing? This is how to remove the stem". Your phone is monitoring everything you do. AI will take over very soon. I watched the video and the chap did the same as me but used a claw hammer to lever it out. I tried that with a no6 screw and broke the head off. A no8 screw did the job. Delighted. The new sensor wouldn't go in despite it being the same size as the old one. Wd40 sprayed liberally and sandpaper wrapped around a screwdriver was enough to scrape out the inside of the hole and eventually made the hole big enough for new sensor. Still a tightish fit but it went in. Clipped the connector back on and replaced the wheel with my newly acquired wheel hole locators which knocked 20 minutes off that job. I can't remember if the lights went out immediately or if I rescanned and reset the faults. Either way. Job done and I didn't have to buy the subscription for the app. I cancelled the garage appointment. All good and still is. Except I've got a short circuit in the air conditioning apparently. Another day perhaps.

      It is an OBD2 scanner, sure. But its more limited than most. Options (even on my VWA Group car) were limited and half didn’t register unless done a few times. Way too expensive for what it is, particularly alongisde a subscription. Very mediocre device.

      Antes de comprar el Carista EVO, compre el OBDEleven, que si bien parecía que podía ofrecer más opciones de personalización y programación, la experiencia de usuario en la app me resultó bastante menos amigable y con muchas funciones en ingles que tienes que andar traduciendo si no dominas el ingles técnico. Además es mucho más lento y muy caro, ya que te obliga a pagar por todo. Aun comprando la versión Pro, pedía adquirir créditos tanto para poder activar, como para desactivar funciones.

      Con Carista EVO es mucho más económico, sencillo y está todo en perfecto castellano. De primeras el aparatito es infinitamente más rápido que todos los OBD que he probado. Solo con enchufarlo al puerto y poner el contacto, es capaz de encontrar el VIN del coche y conectarse automáticamente con él. Además va a toda velocidad chequeando cada módulo del coche. En mi Golf GTE es capaz de chequear las 23 unidades de control (ECUs) en menos de 10 segundos.

      Cuenta con un mes de suscripción premium para que puedas tocar todo si gastar un duro y sin restricciones. Activar y desactivar las funciones ocultas de tu coche, realizar el mantenimientos del coche (batería, frenos, aceite, avisos,...), mostrar los datos de sensores en tiempo real, etc. Pero además, cuando se te acaba el periodo de prueba, tiene la posibilidad de contratar Premium por 1 solo mes (9,99€), 1 trimestre (19,99€) o un año (49,99€), que para mí es perfecto. Yo lo uso poco, y con pagar 1 mes cuando lo necesite, me vale. Además, aunque no tengas el premium, siempre vas a poder chequear el estado del coche, los posibles fallos de las unidades de control y su historial.

      Para mí es el mejor OBD no profesional en cuanto a calidad-precio y facilidad de uso que recomiendo a cualquier que tenga un coche del grupo VAG, BMW, Toyota y otros compatibles.

      The instructions work, so I highly recommend them. I purchased the Evo unit, and got a deal on the app. It worked very well with my Samsung s21 ultra in the parking lot of my place. Bluetooth was smooth and fast. I changed the battery in my VW Golf mk8, and needed to register it. It worked perfectly for that. Done in a matter of minutes. Actually saved quite a lot when compared to doing it at a dealer, and don't really trust anyone else because I don't know anyone here yet. There are already changes that I have made to my display for accessibility reasons. My vision is not that great. Changed the speedometer and some other things. It's just a fantastic little device, and it works well with the app which is I must say very good for my purpose. Others may need something more extensive, and even pay less. I got what I wanted for the money I spent, and I'm not finished enjoying it yet. Also I talked to Ali on the phone, and he was super informative and very easy to understand and so far as technical things. I am new at this, so I really liked the reassurance of knowing. I'd like to thank them for that. Five stars from me.
